When we share media (files – documents, presentations, images, video) on the internet, it’s different to sharing them within work.

We don’t know what devices or programs our viewers will be using to access the files.

In order to make sure that all our viewers can access our content, we have to choose a limited set of file types or in the case of video, use a video hosting service.

For images, we should use .jpg or .png

Documents like word documents, powerpoints or publisher documents, should all be converted to .pdf‘s

Video‘s should be uploaded to a hosting service like YouTube, then embedded in your post or page.

If you stick to these rules, you will be able to upload quickly and your viewers will be able to download quickly and will be able to reliably access your content.
